Film Transfers: Super 8 Sound Film to Digital

Kodak first introduced Super 8 sound film in 1973 as a way to combine the benefits of both Super 8 motion picture film and magnetic sound onto a single film roll.

This format was very popular in schools and businesses for many years due to its low cost and ease of use. But it lost ground when digital video cameras became more affordable. Consequently, Kodak discontinued production of Super 8 Sound film in 2005. However, many people still want to digitize their Super 8 recordings so they can be more easily stored and shared or archived for posterity.

With VideoMedia digitization service, you can have your Super 8 Sound footage transferred to digital files. We’ll digitize, restore and transfer your old film reels into high-quality digital files that you can view easily whenever you’d like. We can also provide you with any additional information or services that may be necessary, such as editing and colour correction.
